This collection contains records related to the 1993 affiliation of Astoria General Hospital with Mount Sinai, its subsequent rebranding as Western Queens Community Hospital and participation in Mount Sinai's various health network projects, and its eventual purchase by Mount Sinai in 1999. Records include financial studies, meeting minutes and notes, consultants' reports, correspondence and memoranda. The collection includes extensive material related to the Mount Sinai Health System, a network of affiliate hospitals that included hospitals in New York City, New Jersey and upstate New York, including memoranda and committee minutes that were distributed to all hospitals in the network. (This network should not be confused with the current Mount Sinai Health System, which was created in 2013 by the merger of The Mount Sinai Medical Center with Continuum Health Partners.)
