The Annenberg Building was built to house the new Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Ground was broken in 1969 and the building partially opened in the Fall of 1973. It was fully completed in 1976. The building is named in honor of Mrs. Moses Annenberg due to generous gifts from her children. Contains: American flag flown for topping-off ceremony (December 20, 1971); three large bolts given as souvenirs at topping off; and two Cor-ten steel plates given as souvenirs at the steel-hoisting ceremony, February 22, 1971.
