In 1952, the name of the National League of Nursing Education was changed to the National League for Nursing, an organization to be composed of: American Association of Industrial Nurses Association of Collegiate Schools of Nursing, National League of Nursing Education, and National Organization for Public Health Nursing, with objectives: to foster development for the improvement of hospital, industrial, public health, and other organized nursing services and of nursing education through the coordinated action of nurses, allied professional groups, citizens, agencies & schools.

Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation was formed in 1948 to consolidate into a single organization the leading agencies in the attack on rheumatic conditions. Sponsored by the American Rheumatism Association in cooperation with the National Arthritis Research Foundation, the DetroitFund for Crippling Diseases and others. Objectives include surveys of the problem, graduate education of the medical profession, education of the public, research fellowships and improved care for those with rheumatic diseases. Local chapters cover the entire nation. Name was changed Oct. 1964 to Arthritis Foundation.

The Mount Sinai Transdisciplinary Center on Early Environmental Exposures aims to understand how environmental exposures in early life influence health, development, and risk of disease and dysfunction across the life span. The Center has three facility cores, which provide the expertise, technologies and services for collaborative, transdisciplinary environmental health research. Integrated Health Sciences Facility Core (IHSFC); the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Facility Core (BBFC); and the clinically oriented Phenotyping and Environmental Modifier Facility Core (PEMFC).There is additionally the Community Engagement Core’s mission is to foster communication and collaboration among environmental health scientists and diverse stakeholders on the role of environmental exposures in children’s health, and strategies to build healthier environments. Through academic-community partnerships, the Center communicates environmental health research findings to community members, and ensure environmental concerns that affect the community’s health, particularly in East Harlem and the South Bronx, guide the Center’s research.

The Center was renamed to the Center on Health and Environment Across the LifeSpan (HEALS) in 2022.
