The Mount Sinai Health System was formed in 2013 with the merger of The Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn School of Medicine and The Mount Sinai Medical Center with the Continuum Health Partners. The Boards of Trustees for each corporation continued to operate after the merger.
Was the Patient Services Committee, then the Patient Care Committee. It became the Patient Care and Quality Assurance Committee in 2000.
The Board of Directors of the Jews' Hospital in the City of New York first met on February 25, 1852. The name of the corporation changed to Mount Sinai Hospital in 1866. The Board of Directors became the Board of Trustees at the annual meeting on January 28, 1917. The work of the Board is accomplished through the officers meeting in Executive Committee as well as through numerous standing and ad hoc committees.
Until December 6, 1994, this group was the Quality Assurance Committee.
This committee is known as the Compensation Committee, its original name. By 1992 the title had changed to the Compensation and Employee Benefits Committee. In late 2002 it became the Compensation, Employee Benefits and Employee Relations Committee.
This committee was created in 1980.
The previous title was the Finance, Budget and Accounts Committee of the Board. By 2011, this was called the Finance Committee.
Was the Affiliated Hospitals Committee of the Board of Directors, MSMC in 1978/79. In 1980 was the Affiliations Committee, MSSM.

The Ad Hoc Committee on Clinical Practice was created in 1981. Mount Sinai Trustee Morton P. Hyman was the Chairman. The group was composed of Trustees and physicians from the medical staff of The Mount Sinai Hospital.
This subcommittee was established in 1980 and met almost monthly. In 1983 it began to meet quarterly. Became the Patient Care Committee.
