Biographical history

Michael L. Marin, MD has been the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from December 2003, initially in an Acting role, becoming full Chairman in 2004. He also serves as Surgeon-in-Chief at The Mount Sinai Hospital. When the Mount Sinai Health System was created in 2013, he became System Chair for the Department of Surgery. He is a graduate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Class of 1984.

    This is a collection of material received from Michael L. Marin, MD, starting in June 2019. He has gathered this collection over many years, purchasing individual items as they are identified. The material relates to The Mount Sinai Hospital in general, as well as to the Mount Sinai Department of Surgery and its staff. Since some of the items duplicate material already held in the Archives or could be added to existing series, the bulk of this collection will be physically separated and placed with like material. This finding aid will provide intellectual control over the entire collection.
